How much water does MY lawn really need?

While watering needs depends greatly on the soil type and the weather, an established lawn does not need as much water as you think. In general, during the summer your law will need about 2.25 inches per week. If you have the clay soil that is typical here along the front range, you will want to water longer, but less often. Sandy soil requires shorter watering sessions, but more frequent waterings. We can help you determine the optimum watering schedule by testing your systems precipitation rate, your soil type and the average root depth of your lawn and plants.
